Where Is It From? Diaspore Mineral Meaning

The name Diaspore, also spelled Diaspor or Diasporite, originally came from the Greek word which meant to scatter, and it relates to the way that the mineral scatters when it is heated.

It is also called Empholite, Kayserite or Tanatarite, and trademarked gem quality stones from Turkey are called Csarite and Zultanite by the gemstone trade.

The main place it is found is in Turkey, and these stones are higher quality and are sold as quite beautiful gemstones.

This mineral is also found in the United Kingdom, Hungary, Russia, China, New Zealand, Argentina, Brazil and the United States.

It may be found in bauxite clay or in limestone and its shape may be in the massive form as well as being found as platy, acicular or prismatic crystals.

Many of these crystalline pieces make stunning gemstones, and it was its use as gemstones that made it become popular.

This stone is found in a number of colors, including white, whitish grey, greenish grey, brown, light orange, colorless and yellow.

It also occurs as quite beautiful pink, purple or lilac stones, and many have a quite lovely pearly lustre.

These crystals have an unusual attribute known as pleochroism in that they seem to change color according to how they are held, or looked at.

Best Crystals To Use With Diaspore

What are the best crystals to combine with Diaspore?

To assist its action to help your memory, you might choose to combine it with other stones that have strong action to aid memory. This includes other crystals for memory such as Rosasite, Thenardite, Azurite or Green Calcite.

If you wish to use this stone to help you to lose weight, you may choose to combine it with any of the other stones for weight loss.
